The City of Brookhaven held the Unveiling Ceremony for the ‘Comfort Women’ Girl’s Statue for Peace on June 30th, amid Japan’s Consul General to Alanta’s blatant and ludicrous denial of this dark history during WWII.
Brookhaven City Council stood strong in the face of pressure and ludicrous assertions from the Japanese Consul General to Atlanta, Takashi Shinozuka, who argued the women and girls were not sex slaves but paid prostitutes. His remarks drew international criticism. Click here to read the story.
