Dear Friends,
We had a very successful Gala Dinner celebrating the 12th Anniversary of the H.Res.121 and the 6th Anniversary of the Glendale Peace Monument and introducing Our New Name “CARE: Comfort Women Action for Redress and Education”

We had an honor of having Guest of Honor, former Congressman and our new Chair of the Advisory Committee Mike Honda; the Co-Chairs of CWJC, judges Lillian Sing and Julie Tang; our Partnership Sponsor Robin Kim; the winners of the Video Contest; 3.1 Women’s Association; KAPAC; Sungsam Catholic Church; Japanese American Community; Chinese American Community; Representatives from Congressman Brad Sherman, CA Senator Anthony Portantino, CA Assembly member Laura Friedman, Los Angeles Councilmember David Ryu; Harry Leon, the President of the Crescenta Valley Town Council and Los Angeles Commissioner; educators; the “Comfort Women” Musical Team; and members of the media.
Here are the winning videos who won the Video Contest, “Why should the history and issues around “Comfort Women” taught in shcools in the United States?”

We also introduced a new, groundbreaking project to raise awareness on the “Comfort Women” issue – the “Eternal Testimony” project. It is a kind of virtual reality program where a viewer can ask questions to the person (a Grandma) on the screen and she will answer to the questions. Professor Jusub Kim of Sogang University will lead the project and we are very excited to work with Prof. Kim‘s team!!
