Memorial gathering for Grandma Lee Ok-seon in Glendale

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who attended the memorial gathering for Grandma Ok-seon Lee despite scattering rain. Please see photos below. Also, watch a short video HERE from the memorial ritual.
GLENDALE CITY COUNCIL adjourned the meeting in memory of Grandma Lee on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. See below image of the In Memoriam. We, the supporters of the Grandmas, deeply appreciate this kind gesture by the Mayor Ara Najarian and the City Councilmembers of Glendale!!
이옥선 할머니를 추모하기 위해 글렌데일 소녀상 앞에 모여주신 모든 분들께 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 특히, 글렌데일 시의회는 5월20일 화요일, 이옥선 할머니를 추모하고 기리는 메세지로 시의회를 마쳤습니다. 아라 나자리안 시장님과 글렌데일 시의원님들께 깊은 감사를 드립니다! 가능하시다면 시장님과 시 의원님들께 감사의 이메일을 보내주세요!
Also, CARE would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Chang Lee, the president of the Korea Glendale Sister City Assocation, for his efforts in helping the City of Glendale adjourn the meeting In Memoriam of Grandma Lee.
The memorial gathering was led by the high school students from Hwarang Youth Foundation who also designed and printed the program. The religious rituals were led by Father John Shin and Deacon Francisco Ye from Sungsam Korean Catholic Church, and Grand Monk Myo Gyung from Koreasah Temple. Jiwoo Whang and the Cheese and Basil Cafe donated the flowers for dedication of flowers. We were happy to be joined by Mr. Paul Hsu on behalf of the Chinese community as well!

또한, 이번에 글렌데일 시의회가 이옥선 할머니를 추모하도록 많은 노력을 기울여 준 코리아 글렌데일 자매도시위원회의 이창엽 회장님께 깊은 감사를 표하고자 합니다.
추모제는 화랑 소속 학생들이 프로그램지를 제작하고 추모제 순서를 이끌어 주었으며, 성삼성당의 신요한 신부님과 예프란시스코 부제님, 그리고 고려사의 주지이신 묘경스님이 종교순서를 이끌어 주셨습니다. 또 치즈 앤 바질 카페와 황지우 학생이 꽃을 기부해 주셨고 헌화 순서를 이끌어 주셨습니다. 중국계 커뮤니티를 대표해서 폴 수 선생님이 와 주셨습니다. 모두 모두 감사드립니다!
