Dear Teachers and Educators,

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 CARE–CWJC Teachers’ Study Tour to South Korea, taking place May 27–30, 2026. This program is designed for high school (grades 9–12) social studies teachers in the United States who are passionate about global learning, women’s history, and teaching difficult histories with care and accuracy.

This unique professional development opportunity includes:

  • teachers’ conference with Korean history educators
  • Field visits to museums, memorials, and historical sites related to the “comfort women” issue
  • Interpretation, ground transportation, shared meals, and 5 nights of hotel accommodation (May 26–31)
  • $1,500 travel stipend (issued in two parts, post-tour)

Whether you have already been teaching the “comfort women” issue or are looking to incorporate it more deeply into your curriculum, this study tour offers invaluable context, resources, and international collaboration.
